What Is Power Sculpt - And Is It Right for You?
If you've scrolled through the Love Yoga & Barre schedule and landed on Power Sculpt, you might have asked yourself: Is this a yoga class? A fitness class? Something in between?
The answer is yes - to all of it. Here's what Power Sculpt actually is, what to expect in your first class, and why so many of our students in Whitefish and Kalispell say it's the class that changed their relationship with working out.
Power Sculpt: Where Yoga Meets Strength Training
Power Sculpt is a heated, high-intensity class that combines yoga-based movement with strength training. You'll use light weights, resistance, and your own bodyweight to build muscle while moving through a flow-style sequence.
The heat - set between 90 and 95 degrees at our Whitefish and Kalispell studios - amplifies every part of the experience. Your muscles are warmer and more pliable. Your cardiovascular system works harder. Your sweat is real. And your body burns more calories during and after class than it would in a non-heated environment.
What Happens in a Power Sculpt Class?
A typical Power Sculpt class at Love Yoga & Barre moves through several phases:
Warm-up: A flowing sequence to elevate heart rate and prepare the joints for work.
Sculpt Sequences: Weighted standing and floor work targeting specific muscle groups - glutes, shoulders, core, and arms. Movements are functional, yoga-adjacent, and designed to build real strength.
Yoga Integration: Poses woven throughout to lengthen muscles between strength sets. Think chair pose with a bicep curl, warrior two with lateral raises, or a squat sequence that flows into a hip opener.
Cool-Down: A brief stretch and floor sequence to bring the heart rate down and begin recovery.
You'll leave feeling accomplished -- the kind of accomplished that comes from doing something genuinely hard.
Who Is Power Sculpt For?
Power Sculpt works for a wide range of students, but it tends to resonate most with people who:
Have done yoga but want more of a workout component
Are strength training elsewhere but want more flexibility and mobility
Are brand new to fitness and want a class that builds real results quickly
Simply love to sweat
It is a heated class, which means heat tolerance is worth considering. If you're new to heated classes, come hydrated, give yourself permission to rest when you need to, and know that your tolerance builds quickly over the first few sessions.
Why the Heat?
Heated yoga and sculpt classes aren't just a trend. The science behind working out in heat is real: increased circulation brings more oxygen to muscles during work, flexibility improves at higher tissue temperatures, and the cardiovascular demand of exercising in heat produces a training effect comparable to moderate aerobic conditioning.
At Love Yoga & Barre, we heat our studios intentionally - not to make things harder for the sake of it, but because it makes your time on the mat more effective.
