ABOUT YOUR TRAINER

Hi, I’m Ansley — and for most of you, we probably already know each other in some way by now. I was born and raised in North Carolina and lived in Asheville for the past 11 years before moving to the Flathead Valley at the end of 2024. I’ve been taking barre since 2014 and teaching since 2017, but movement and athletics have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up riding horses competitively, swimming, playing soccer, and eventually playing college tennis. After college, I found myself missing the structure, connection, and team aspect that athletics gave me, and I spent years exploring different areas of fitness trying to recreate that feeling.

I was an avid CrossFitter, occasional yogi, and Pilates girl before eventually falling in love with barre after a wrist injury changed what movement looked like for me. Barre gave me something I didn’t realize I was searching for — an intense, challenging, low-impact workout that I could modify around injuries while still feeling strong, athletic, and empowered.

What started as a workout quickly became so much more than that. The barre world has brought me some of my best friendships, an incredible sense of community, and eventually even brought me here. Over the last 12 years, my love for barre and group fitness has only continued to grow, and I’m incredibly excited to share that passion, knowledge, and experience with all of you through this training.

Along with years of teaching experience, I currently hold a 40-hour yoga sculpt training, barre training certification, and CrossFit L1 certification, and I’m currently working toward my CPT certification. My educational background is equally rooted in movement and science. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with much of my thesis and research focused on animal sciences, exercise and mental health, and post- baccalaureate studies in neurobiology, chemistry, and anatomy. To say I love the fitness world would honestly be an understatement. Over the years, I’ve developed a passion not just for teaching movement, but for helping instructors understand why we teach the way we do. This training was created to bridge the gap between memorizing choreography and truly understanding movement, cueing, programming, and connection within a room. I believe great instructors are built through curiosity, practice, community, and learning how to trust their own voice and that’s exactly the environment I hope to create during this weekend together.
